Cardiological Consultation + ECG
The cardiological consultation with the performance of an ECG (electrocardiogram) is the procedure that allows the cardiology specialist to evaluate the cardiovascular conditions of a patient in order to exclude or confirm a cardiac disorder – find the appropriate therapy for its treatment, and plan ongoing surveillance.
The cardiological consultation is carried out through an interview with the patient during which the doctor collects information concerning the patient’s medical history, lifestyle, any symptoms for which the patient comes to the consultation, and evaluates any cardiac diagnostic exams already performed by the patient (previous ECGs, echocardiograms, blood pressure monitoring or ECG holter, etc.).
The cardiologist will then conduct a physical examination, measure blood pressure, and perform an electrocardiogram.
The electrocardiogram is a trace that allows the evaluation of the heart’s electrical activity.
Thanks to it, it is possible to assess the presence or absence of alterations in the cardiac rhythm (arrhythmias) or pathologies affecting the coronary tree (ischemias).
Dr.Antonio Sagone
Cardiologist - Electrophysiologist, specialized in the treatment of Cardiac Rhythm Disorders - Arrhythmias
I particularly focus on Atrial Fibrillation, which is considered one of the most common causes of cerebral ischemia (stroke). Atrial Fibrillation Ablation is currently the most effective procedure to counter the progression of the disease. I perform interventional activities at the San Gaudenzio Clinic in Novara, which is affiliated with the National Health Service and equipped with all the most advanced 3D electro-anatomical mapping systems for the ablation of Arrhythmias.
At the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic, I perform: Cardiological Examination + ECG.
